Measurement Specialties, Inc. is a global designer, manufacturer, and supplier/distributor of sensors and sensor-related assemblies. For over 50 years, we have produced a wide variety of pressure sensors, force sensors, vibration sensors, flow sensors, and ultrasonic sensors.
The company is structured into the following global business groups:
Pressure-Force Group (PFG)
Position-Piezo-Vibration Group (PVG)
Humidity-Temperature-Gas Group (HTG)
Each of these global business groups have structured within them the standalone divisions that are represented by the brands noted above. Each of these divisions has numerous independent challenges, and each has a focus toward optimizing their separate spend. Each division in its own right represents a sizable opportunity to its respective supply base, both in direct as well as indirect goods and services.
Although the primarily focus may be on each independent division or group's spend, our sourcing operations are bound to the concept of leveraging the corporation's total spend that our enterprise represents. Our sourcing function proactively looks for opportunities to aggregate our groups and our division's spending toward a highly rationalized, world-class supply base.
We have structured a portion of our sourcing organization around this concept, we have deployed systems and tools that enable our spend collaboration, and we have identified a number of strategic commodities where synergy and aggregation is most likely an opportunity. Focusing on and leveraging these spend areas while working closely with a world-class supply base helps make us the low cost supplier to our own customers.
